Abstract
This issue of Diseña aims to contribute, from a very applied perspective, to the discussion about the role that matters of concern could have in design research. We hope that this issue will encourage designers, especially those who lead interdisciplinary research projects, to look for design methods that contribute to enriching reality instead of impoverishing it, as well as to allow disagreements to be expressed in all their complexity, instead of stopping them prematurely. We also hope that controversies gain strength instead of dissipating. In short, we hope to encourage designers to find methods that articulate problems as matters of concern.
