Área/TEST Exercises of Resistance in Matadero Madrid
Main Article Content
Abstract
In October 2016, Matadero Madrid hosted the exhibition Área/TEST, an exploration in the field of fabrication of reactive practices, whose purpose was to resist the apparent objectivity of architecture and design and build a framework for the inscription of contemporary collaborations. The Madrid exhibition presented works and projects by Anton Alvarez, Atom™ + Domingo García-Huidobro, Martín Huberman + Cristián Domínguez, Sebastián Irarrázaval, Mil M2, Ignacia Murtagh, Cristóbal Palma and Cristián Plana + Ariel Lagos. Área is an initiative that extends contents of design towards transverse disciplines such as architecture, urban design, photography, music, performance and the visual arts. Área/TEST’s presentation at Matadero Madrid was the fourth intervention by Área, which for the first time operated in Europe.
